Patches challenges you to fill a 6×6 grid with shape-based rectangles across 110 puzzles, daily challenges, streaks, stars and four difficulty levels.

Patches is a free online logic puzzle built around simple shapes and careful planning. The game uses a 6×6 grid filled with numbered shape clues. Each clue tells you how many cells its patch should cover and what shape that patch can take.

GAMEPLAY OVERVIEW

Patches challenges players to fill a 6×6 grid with rectangular patches that match each clue’s size and shape. Every cell must be covered once, with no overlaps or gaps. Simple clues often reveal early moves, while nearby patches help narrow down harder placements. Four difficulty levels offer 110 handcrafted puzzles, and the Daily Challenge adds a new board each day. Faster solves earn more stars.

Shape Clues Guide Every Move

Each grid cell contains a number and a shape icon. The number shows the required size of the patch, while the icon sets its shape rules. Patches includes five main clue types:

• Square: Equal width and height.
• Wide: Wider than it is tall.
• Tall: Taller than it is wide.
• Free: Any rectangular shape with the required size.
• Any: No shape restrictions.

Daily Puzzles and Streaks

The Daily Challenge gives Patches a regular reason to return. One featured puzzle appears each day, and successful completion adds to your streak. Daily progress depends on consistency. Missed days reset the streak, so players who enjoy short daily puzzles can use the challenge as a simple routine.
