About Mahjong Connect

Mahjong Connect challenges you to clear 12 timed levels by linking matching tiles through open paths. Use five hints when tricky layouts slow you down.

Mahjong Connect turns a familiar tile-matching idea into a puzzle about space and timing. The board is filled with traditional Chinese symbols, from bamboo and circles to numbered tiles, but identical symbols alone are not enough to make a match. The route between them matters just as much.

Known as MahJongCon, Shisen-Sho, or Nikakudori, this single-player game gives you 12 levels to complete before time runs out. Some pairs are easy to spot, while others sit behind clusters of tiles that block the way. Removing one pair can open a route for another, so the board gradually changes as you work through it.

THE TWO-TURN RULE CHANGES EVERYTHING

Mahjong Connect follows one key restriction: matching tiles must connect through an unobstructed path with no more than two 90-degree turns. Any tile blocking that route makes the pair invalid, even when both symbols are identical.

  • Spot a pair: Select two tiles with the same symbol.
  • Trace the route: Check whether an open line can connect them using no more than two right-angle turns.
  • Clear the match: Remove the pair to expose new possibilities.
  • Finish the level: Eliminate all tiles before the countdown reaches zero.

The challenge comes from reading the board rather than simply recognizing symbols. A pair that seems out of reach might become available after a few other tiles disappear.

Why Mahjong Connect Feels Different

Mahjong Solitaire Game usually asks players to remove matching tiles that are free on the board. Mahjong Connect shifts the focus to connecting pairs across open space. The number of turns allowed in each path becomes a small but important logic problem.

That rule creates a satisfying chain reaction: one cleared pair changes the layout, the new layout reveals another route, and the next decision becomes easier or more complicated. The 12-level structure adds a time challenge to this process, keeping the focus on both observation and pace.
