Smush is a word puzzle game built around one simple goal: make words and earn points. Each board gives you nine letters, with one special gold letter in the center. Finding smart word combinations matters because most letters have limited uses, so every choice can affect the rest of the board.
BUILDING WORDS FOR POINTS
In Smush, every word must include the gold center letter. This letter can be used as many times as you want, while each of the other eight letters has only five total uses. Multiple appearances of the same letter within one word are allowed, so creative word choices can help you get more from the board.
Extra scoring comes from two special features. One letter becomes the spicy letter, and using it adds bonus points to the word. The spicy letter changes after each move, giving you another reason to watch the board before choosing your next word.
Letters also become more valuable when you use their final remaining turn. Spending the last use of a letter effectively smushes it, adding another scoring boost.
Gameplay Strategy
Strong word choices are more important than simply searching for the longest words. Keep track of how many uses remain for each outer letter and look for combinations that can use the spicy letter or smush several letters at once.
Every board also contains at least one word using all nine letters. Finding this special word can earn extra points, and playing it early can make it especially valuable. Saving useful letters for later may also open up better scoring opportunities, so each move becomes part vocabulary challenge and part strategy puzzle.
