Word Salad turns familiar crossword solving into a visual letter hunt. Letters sit at the bottom of the screen, while an empty grid waits for the right words. The goal is to uncover every word that belongs in the puzzle using the available letters. Food gives the game a small extra twist. At least one answer in every puzzle relates to food, while the remaining answers can come from many different topics.

Word Salad works well for players who enjoy crossword puzzles but want something more interactive. Letter connections, hidden answers, bonus discoveries, and helpful hints create a simple loop that stays engaging from the first word to the final empty space.

The basic puzzle flow includes:

• Connect letters: Click and drag across the letters needed to spell a word.
• Submit the word: Release the mouse after reaching the final letter.
• Fill the grid: Correct answers take their places in the crossword-style layout.
• Shuffle the letters: Click the center shuffle button whenever a new arrangement might reveal another possibility.
• Complete the puzzle: All required words must be found before the grid is finished.

Bonus Words Bring Extra Help

Not every valid word belongs in the grid. Extra discoveries are still useful because they become Bonus Words and are stored in the meter beneath the puzzle. A full Bonus Words meter rewards you with a free magic wand. That reward can become especially useful when the remaining spaces are difficult to solve.

The magic wand provides a direct hint when normal word hunting stops working. One click activates the wand, followed by a click on any grid box that needs help. The selected space then reveals its letter and gives you another clue toward the answer.
