Every Move Has a Cost

The four directions may seem equally useful, but they don't always produce the same result. Sliding left could combine several tiles while leaving useful space open. How to Play Reach 2048

You need to use the arrow keys on a keyboard or swipe in the desired direction on a touchscreen to move every tile on the board. When two tiles with the same number meet during a move, they merge into one tile with double their value. Continue combining matching numbers and use the resulting larger tiles to create new opportunities.

Keep checking the empty spaces and the position of your largest tiles before making another move. The goal is to build upward until you reach 2048, although the game can continue if you manage to go beyond that milestone. The basic controls are simple:
