About Xordle

Xordle turns word guessing into a two-answer logic test, where shared clues must be separated to uncover both hidden five-letter words.

Xordle does not simply double the usual word puzzle. Its real twist comes from shared information. Two five-letter words sit behind the same board, while your guesses are tested against both at once. One letter can reveal something about one answer while saying nothing about the other. The challenge comes from sorting those clues without knowing their owner immediately.

THE PUZZLE IS REALLY ABOUT SEPARATING CLUES

Standard Wordle gives you one hidden answer to track. Xordle creates two possible destinations for the same evidence. The no-shared-letter rule makes that split especially important. Letters found in one target cannot also belong to the other, turning confirmed letters into useful exclusions.

One Board Creates the Mental Puzzle

Two separate boards would make the answers easier to keep apart. Xordle instead layers the information into one shared guessing process, which forces more active tracking. Suppose a guess produces several useful colors. The immediate question is not only “What word could this be?” but also “Which hidden word owns this clue?”

That distinction creates some of the most interesting moments in a round. One possible answer may explain several letters, while another possibility suddenly becomes stronger after a gray letter removes an entire group of candidates.
